PLAYERS from the Cornish Pirates and Redruth got a stern workout on Tuesday as they held a competitive training match.
No score was recorded from the game at the Rec with the focus of the meeting being to get a few cobwebs shaken off before the season begins.
Pirates director of rugby Ian Davies said after the game: "The evening provided an important run out for some players who missed out in the 10s and although Redruth were depleted with injuries it was a good physical work out.
"We now look forward to a more intense fixture against Aberavon on Saturday at the Mennaye."
Kick-off for Saturday's match with the Welsh side is at 5pm with entrance costing £5 for adults a £1 for children.
