ANOTHER three Cornish Pirates players have signed new deals at the Mennaye for the 2015/16 season.

The Greene King IPA Championship club announced on Tuesday fly-halves Kieran Hallett and Laurence will be staying at the club for another year alongside prop Tyler Gendall.

All three have impressed this season for the Pirates with 29-year-old Hallett becoming one of the leading points scorers in the league.

His new deal will signal a fourth year at the Mennaye after joining from Nottingham and Hallett has also represented the Ireland Under 19s and 21s.

May came to the Pirates last July after agreeing a dual-registration deal with his parent club Exeter Chiefs and has bagged two tries for the Cornish side since arriving.

Gendall made a fierce impression at the club when he joined in the summer as part of the Player Development Foundation project.

He barged his way into the front row early in the season before a nasty knee injury finished his year off.

Despite this mishap the Pirates were so pleased with the talent he showed in his first six appearances, they had no hesitation in offering him a new deal.

Director of rugby Ian Davies said he is pleased to see the trio agree new deals, adding all have great talent in them.

Davies said: “I suppose we have the two ends of the spectrum.

“Kieran is a guy on top of the Championship outside-half tree while Laurence and Tyler are both being rewarded for cracking first seasons with us.

“All three have made significant contributions this season I look forward to further helping them achieve their rugby ambitions.”
