THE WINNING streak of Culdrose Hawks Under 14s continued on Sunday as they defeated Goonhavern Ghosts 4-1.

Illness to three regular squad member meant the Hawks had to play with ten players, but they still started well and took the lead midway into the first half as Josh Burslem put Brandon Holmes through, who coolly slotted home.

He soon grabbed a second with his free kick curling into the net before the hosts pulled a goal back just before the break.

Play was continued to be controlled by the Hawks in the second half with Harry Bray and Harry Duckworth sealing the points for them, with both chances created by Trystan Williams.

After the match, manager Johnny Bray said: “This victory was so well deserved and even more so as we only had ten players.

“All of the boys worked so hard and dominated the majority of the match so well that the extra man for the opposition was hardly noticed.

“We are incredibly proud of the hard work and determination they showed.”
