INTERNATIONAL call-ups have been handed to Cornish Pirates pair Jack Innard and Stuart Townsend by selectors of the England Under 20s side.

They have been picked in the 32-man squad ahead of the Six Nations campaign which begins on February 7 against Wales.

Both are dual-registered with Aviva Premiership side Exeter Chiefs and have featured in international age group sides already in their careers.

Scrum-half Townsend has worked his way up through the national team’s age categories including a stint with the U20s last year.

Ex-England full-back Jon Callard is head coach of the side said they are looking forward to kicking off the campaign with the trip to Colwyn Bay.

Callard said: “Wales is a fabulous nation, who love their rugby and we’re excited about taking them on.

“They’re a passionate bunch and we got a good result against them last season, winning 67-7 in Newcastle, so they’ll be keen to come out of the blocks firing.

“We need to keep our evolution and development moving forward and we want to be pushing boundaries and producing players for the England senior side.”
