TRURO could not continue their November winning run as they were undone on the road against mid-table Wadebridge Camels.

A stunning opening 19 minutes created a gap which the Chiefs failed to eradicate totally although they did look at times capable of securing some points from the Tribute Western Counties West game.

However, a final nail was put in the coffin of their chances when lock Ross Denning was sin-binned in the second half as Truro looked to be pressuring the home defence.

The Camels had a shaky start to the season but have been gradually getting back on track with a number of experience names returning to the fold recently.

They made an early statement of intent in the game with the hosts racing over three tries before the 19th minute was up.

Full-back Will Pengelley got the ball rolling before mobile prop Richard Treleaven added a second, with fly-half James Grubb converting both.

Then winger Dan Briskham got in on the act to open a 19 point lead inside the first quarter.

Before the half time whistle was blown, Truro gave a response with two converted tries of their own courtesy of Jake Champion on both occasions.

Unfortunately, their progress to eat into the deficit was scuppered not long after the restart when home centre Ben Hawken crashed over the whitewash to make it 24-14.

There was no sign of the Chiefs giving up though with fly-half Craig Williams slotting home two penalties to close the gap again.

But just when they looked certain to get on top, Denning retaliated to something he did not like and was shown a yellow card for his actions.

Wadebridge made the most of this situation with Briskham scoring another try for Grubb to convert.

Both fly-halves exchanged penalty kicks in the final few minutes as the Camels sealed the win.
