ON a surreal day at St Clements Hill, Truro lost 17-0 against Tiverton but still earned five points.
The match had been arranged as the rescheduled meeting between the teams after their original Tribute Western Counties West match on October 18 was abandoned due to the referee getting injured.
Tiverton left the ground with a healthy victory but strangely pointless.
This was down to the fact they had only one front row player available and forfeited the match earlier in the week.
However, league rules stated they still had to turn up for the game or face being deducted ten points.
The sides used the meeting as a training game of sorts with uncontested scrums.
A youthful side travelled down from Devon and Truro went for attacking tactics as they opted to kick penalties into touch rather than go for goal.
However, the first half ended up scoreless.
Truro came out after the break with a higher tempo but still could not get the scoreboard ticking over.
Callum Stone struck first for Tiverton after 52 minutes when he made a good dart to the line before captain Jay Atkins.
A penalty in front of the posts was added to the score five minutes later before Mike Winter completed a fine move to grab another try for Tiverton.
A local derby is up next for Truro as St Ives travel down on Saturday, with the kick-off at 2.30pm.
