CULDROSE Lynx Under 11s travelled down to Penzance on Sunday to take on the Youth Asteroids.

The visitors, pictured above, began the game well, showing great confidence, with their hard work being rewarded with a great solo effort goal.

Kieran Ludkin broke away on the counter attack and took the ball past three home defenders before deftly chipping the goalkeeper to open the scoring.

By half time the hosts had levelled matters and both teams entered the second period looking for the win.

Each had opportunities to make it 2-1, but neither could found the right amount of quality to grab another goal with fine saves from Lynx goalie Matthew Bray keeping Asteroids at bay.

After the game, Lynx manager George McVey expressed his delight with the match.

McVey said: “The boys hard work and commitment on the training field is now really showing during our matches.

“The teams improvement each week is being maintained and we can only get better."
