Vinter Cup Penzance 111 Helston 88-6 Helston were knocked out of the Vinter Cup on Monday evening when they lost their first round tie to Penzance by 23 runs. The visitors got off to a good start with openers Charlie Goldsworthy (13) and Josh Fletcher (29) getting them off to a good start before Jonny Ludlam made 22. Matt Stevens made 20 down the order. Dan Jenkin took three wickets. Helston got off to a poor start losing Chris Martin, Mark Thomas and Josh Ninnis cheaply. Dan Jenkin made 19 , Tommy Sturgess 22 off 17 balls and Stuart Pethick was 19 not out but the task was too much.

Unicorns KO Trophy Cornwall’s hopes of making to the quarter finals disappeared at Corsham on Sunday when they lost to Wiltshire by 21 runs. Overnight rain meant a five hour delayed start, with a 26 overs game played. Wiltshire recovered from losing three quick wickets to make 185 for 8 with Sam Hockin and Matt Robins taking two wickets each. In reply Cornwall were all out for 164, with an over to spare. Paul Smith top scored with 40.
