Encouraging display despite Highbridge Town defeat

AN encouraging first half display from Highbridge Town was not enough to see them pick up the points against Predators.

Predators took the lead initially but goals from Wayne Hand and Stuart Green helped give Highbridge a lift as they entered the break 2-2.

Unfortunately, second-half chances went begging and Predators took theirs to claim a 4-2 win.

The team turn their attention to a Somerset Junior Cup tie with Aller Park at home this Saturday.

Spokesman Terry Earl said: “The club as a whole is all together but it's just disappointing with the results on the pitch at the moment.

“Hopefully we will get a change of luck this week, get a win, and boost the players and the club a bit because I cannot fault the efforts of the lads.”

*HIGHBRIDGE Town Reserves also suffered defeat as a strong Minehead Reserves team claimed a comfortable 8-0 win to leave Town propping up the table.

Next week, the team travel to Redgate.
