Paralympic women’s doubles bronze medallist Lucy Shuker completed her preparations for this week’s US Open USTA Wheelchair Tennis Championships in fine style.

Shuker, of Ash Priors, claimed both the women’s singles and doubles titles over the weekend at the PTR Championships on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

The British No1 and world No9 dropped a total of just four games in matches against Americans Jan Proctor and Jessica Sporte en route to the singles final.

She then beating her German doubles partner and second seed Katharina Kruger 6-4, 6-2 on Sunday to win the title for the third time in four years.

Shuker shared in her fourth successive doubles title when she and Kruger beat Francisca Mardones of Chile and Sporte 6-0, 6-2 in the final.

Shuker has now won seven out of a possible eight titles at the ITF 2 Series tournament since 2009.
