ATHLETICS: Hogg leads Running Forever challenge in 10K

SOME 50 members of the Running Forever Running Club, a record turnout, ran in the Taunton 10K on Sunday.

In ideal running conditions, numerous personal bests were set.

The leading male and female runners were Gerry Hogg, fifth in 34m 38s, and Jo Porter, fourth lady in 42m 32s.

Two club members also ran the Loch Ness Marathon.

In near perfect conditions Richard Staunton ran excellently to record 3hr 33m 50s, in 347th position. He was followed by Peter Hall who ran under four hours for the first time, finishing in 3hr 49m 56s.

Bristol Half Marathon: Dave Urwin (1,254th in 1hr 37m 19s), Justine Bruton (4,769th in 1hr 56m 2s), Donna Fear (5,399th in 1hr 58m 49s), Peta Aspden (6,787th in 2hr 6m 48s) and Yanina Pelegri-Fairfax (6,837th in 2hr 7m 13s).

THE inaugural Longrun 5k was well supported by Taunton AC who enjoyed their run in the sun around the picturesque meadows.

Results: Keith Paul 19m 54s, Danny Doyle 20m 06s, Harriet Rogers 20m 11s, Rachel Langbein 20m 13s, Jo Buck 23m 49s, Sharron Kington 24m 29s, Charlotte Fisher 25m 29s, Jochen Langbein 26m 59s.

Yeovilton 5k: Keith Paul 18m 50s, Danny Doyle 19m 37s, Sharron Kington 23m 57s.

Parkrun 5k, Killerton: Keith Paul 19m 13s, Danny Doyle 20m 08s, Sharron Kington 24m 07s, Suzi Griffiths 29m 51s.

Poole: Keith Paul 18m 36s, Sharron Kington 24m 07s.
