BERROW Reserves took a shock exit out of the Atwell Shield at the weekend after they lost 8-3 to Weston Super Seagulls.

The team trailed 6-0 at half-time to their Division three opponents and despite grabbing three second half goals through Mike Green and a Dax Vincent brace, they could not claw the deficit back.

Manager Steve Eley said: “We made some changes to give the younger lads a taste of the action and unfortunately it didn't work.

“We did not turn up in the first half and it cost us.

“My priority is always on the league though and it's up to the players how far they want to go in the cups.”

This weekend, the team are at Churchill Club 70 Reserves in the league.

In league action, Division Two's Burnham United 'A' beat Portishead Town 'A' 2-1.

They took the lead in the first ten minutes after Josh Rowley pounced on the rebound after Mike Burnell's shot fizzed off the crossbar.

Burnahm missed a number of chances to extend that lead before the visitors got a penalty to equalise.

But with 15 minutes left, Burnham won a penalty of their own which Harry Wedgwood-Potts made no mistake with to give them the win.

In Division Three, Wedmore fell to a 3-1 defeat to Westend and Division Four side King Alfred Sports Centre also tasted defeat as they lost 5-0 at Portishead Town Colts.

Burnham United 'B' had no game but will face KVFC this weekend at home.
