Burnham Under 13s rugby players seal double win
Under 13s rugby
Burnham 46, Hugh Sexey School 15
THE first match of the season was against Sir Hugh Sexey's School with Burnham gradually gaining the upper hand.
Manu opened the scoring when he adeptly picked up the ball as it spilled from a tackle and darted through a gap between two defenders to touch the ball down.
And three further tries were scored through the relentless Burnham pressure, two from Dan and a further try from Manu to lead 22-5 at half time.
The second half saw a further try from Brazier, another from Eddie Davies both for Sexians and tries from Sam (Everett), Manu and Sam (Elrick) (2), topped off by two conversions from Manu for Burnham.
Burnham 77, Dorchester 7
BURNHAM Under 13s produced an emphatic display to beat Dorchester 77-7.
There were few mistakes from Burnham and it took almost fifteen minutes before the first set scrum was formed.
But they relied on determined tackling, a powerful and organised pack and a willingness to run straight and hard.
In the second half, Dorchester gained more composure, but the damage had been done with Manu making several conversions.
