GOLF: Tiverton's Amanda Moyes lands cup double

AMANDA Moyes secured a double victory after the ladies’ Autumn Meeting at Tiverton.

With the scores added to those from the Spring Meeting, Moyes came away with the Bronze Scratch Cup and the Pertwee Cup.

Gross scores of 97 and 101 gave her an aggregate of 198 in the Bronze Scratch Cup, with Ivy Radford the runner-up on 201 after rounds of 102 and 99.

Moyes lifted the Pertwee Cup, for the lowest aggregate nett score in all divisions, with 151 after scores of 73 and 78. The 23-handicapper finished two ahead of Marian Stevens, who posted rounds of 82 and 71.

Stevens tasted victory in the Kyle Trophy, for the best aggregate nett score by a lady veteran. Her 153 total put her three ahead of Sue Norris, who scored 83 and 73.

Norris was also second in the Scratch Challenge Bowl, for the best aggregate gross score.

Stacey Ford won it on 174, thanks to rounds of 89 and 85, while Norris totalled 185 after scores of 97 and 88.

The Autumn Meeting doubled up as the September Medal, in which only three players bettered par.

Stevens (71), Sally Fetherston (72) and Norris (73) were the star performers.

September Medal results: Silver Division - 1 Marian Stevens (90-19=71); 2 Sue Norris (88-15=73); 3 Stacey Ford (85-8=77). Bronze Division One - 1 Amanda Moyes (101-23=78); 2 Oki Northwood (99-21=78); 3 Ivy Radford (99-21=78). Bronze Division Two - 1 Sally Fetherston (102-30=72); 2 Julia Cole (111-30=81); 3 Sarah Lockwood (119-36=83).
