GOLF: Rawlings and Marshall take Padbrook Park event

CARY Rawlings and Hamish Marshall won the summer Fourball Betterball event at Padbrook Park by beating Rod Hutchings and Dean Silversides.
Rawlings made a superb start, firing three birdies in the first seven holes to open up a three-hole lead.
That was extended on the 11th and the match was decided when Marshall rolled in a birdie putt on the par five 14th to secure a 5&4 victory.
Mike Partridge won the Pengelly Cup with a two under par score of 70, following on from his win in the midweek season of Stableford events.
He birdied the par 4 13th hole and finished one shot ahead of Paul Knight who was the only other player to beat par. Pete Waters finished a shot further back in third spot.

Padbrook members have raised more than £3,000 for charity this year. The Senior Open raised £1000 for Force cancer and the biggest single donation was of £1400 for Cancer Research.
Cary Rawlings presented the cheque to Robert Hall who organises the annual Hall of Fame Golf Tournament.
The money was raised by fees, fund raising and an auction at the Andy Ripley Memorial event in August.
