Wellington Reserves were ultimately well worth their 3-0 win over newly-relegated Alphington Reserves in Division One of the Devon and Exeter League at home last weekend as they made it two wins in three so far at the start of a new season.

The side managed by Dave Thomas did not break down the visitors until nearly half time, but once the breakthrough was made Wellington were only going to add to their total; Conor Bryant had a fine game as he opened the scoring with a fine low shot - as an Alphington defender had his hands all over his shirt he did well to maintain balance and pull the trigger.

Earlier in the first half he fizzed a shot just wide of the left hand post.

Further second half goals from Nathan Thomas and sub Oli Nott ensured the points for the home side and rounded off a pleasing performance; Simon Dennehy and Leon Collins were solid and robust in centre midfield and skipper James Rowley was at the heart of some good moves and the back four and keeper were not really every in trouble.

It is home to Culm Utd this weekend from 3pm.

Wellington: Chris McKee, Luke Bryant, Jamie Fleet, Simon Morton, Paul Jefferies, Simon Dennehy, Leon Collins, Nathan Thomas, Conor Bryant, Joe Enticott, James Rowley (c). Subs: Jake Nichol (used), Oli Nott (used), James Garrad (used), Luke Perry (not used), Tom Phillips (not used).
