Cricket weekend concludes with two defeats
TWO of our cricket teams completed their seasons in the Somerset League this weekend with defeat.
East Huntspill lost to run-away Division 9NW winners Wembdon Academy as the home side hit 268-7 thanks to a stylish 91 from Rich Weber, 41 from L. Pigden and 39 from B. Puddy.
They then completed the performance by routing Huntspill for 89 with Dan Buller (4-37) and P. Cook (5-52) doing the damage.
In Division 8S, Burnham 2nds lost to North Petherton 2nds for the second time in as many weeks. Petherton hit 188-3 from their overs thanks to a classy 80 not out from K Williams.
Spinner Ian Hucker rounded off the win to claim superb figures of 5-30 and skittle Burnham for 144.
