FOOTBALL: Tiverton entertain Bridgwater Town tomorrow FOOTBALL: Tiverton entertain Bridgwater Town tomorrow

Tiverton will be looking for a hat-trick of victories when they entertain Bridgwater Town in the Evo Stik league tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm.

Following a frustrating start to the season, when squandered chances led to just one point from two games, the Yellows are really starting to hit their straps.

On Saturday an Owen Howe double and one from Joe Bushin gave Tiverton a 3-2 victory at Bishops Cleeve.

Then on Tuesday they followed up with a 2-0 defeat of Yate Town.

On paper the result should have been a formality. Yate arrived at Ladysmead having taken just one point from their last seven visits and had suffered three straight league defeats this season.

But Yate manager Rob Cousins and his players clearly had other ideas as they dominated the first 15 minutes with Chris Wright kept busy in the Tiverton goal Having weathered the early storm, Tiverton began to play some impressive football but there was always a threat from the visitors.

Tiverton made the breakthrough in the 54th minute when Howe sprinted on to a through ball only to be denied when Yate keeper Rob Brown handled outside his area. Brown was given a red card and Andy Taylor drilled the free kick just inside the post.

The match was sealed 15 minutes later when Howe showed plenty of composure to grab his third goal in two matches.

Tiverton: Chris Wright, Josh Concanen, Alex Faux, Kevin Hill (Josh Searle 59), Paul Kendall, Tom Gardner, Andy Taylor, David Steele, Owen Howe, Joe Bushin (Jules Emati-Emati 79), Harry Nodwell (Russell Jee 69).
