Mark captain Nick Ollerenshaw delighted with promotion

CAPTAIN Nick Ollerenshaw heaped praise on his players after Mark secured promotion to Division Four of the Somerset Shrubbery League.

The team narrowly missed out on promotion last season but Ollerenshaw was delighted that the team could go one step further this time around.

He said: “It was great to put in good performances this season and everyone in the team has made individual contributions at some point – it truly is a team effort.

“It was also nice to see some of the younger players coming of age and putting in consistent performances.”

Worthington produced another outstanding display with the ball to claim 4-12 as Mark routed the home side for 81. He was well supported by S Cattermole (2-13) and a wicket apiece for Spelman, Degales and Coleman.

Then with the bat, despite the loss of S Cattermole (six), T Catttermole (nine) and Worthington (seven), Coleman and Lloyd steered the team over the winning line with the former finishing on 41 and the latter on 11.
