BOWLS: Taunton Deane too good for Williton

Taunton Deane beat Williton 59-43 in the West Somerset League, winning on all rinks.

Scores, (Watchet names first): P Gliddon, R McNally and B Porter lost 22-14; T Beardon, R Mitchell and Derek Sully lost 19-14; and C Penner, C Thorne and A Sully lost 18-15.

Watchet also lost on two of the three rinks and overall by 64-59 against Bridgwater A in the County League.

Scores: C Penner, E Ferris, R Mitchell and Derek Sully lost 25-15; M Grogan, T Beardon, C Thorne and A Sully lost 22-20; and B Porter, S Huggett, H Poole and D Donald won 24-17.

Last Friday Williton visited Taunton Deane for a four rink triples friendly and in a game played in rain most of the time they lost 78-42 with only one of their rinks successful.

Scores: A Tottman, Dave Sully and S Every lost 20-11; M Brooks, P Gliddon and C Thorne lost 32-3; S Sweet, A Cane and V Buller lost 16-13; and T Gibson, J Thorne and E Ferris won 15-10.

Ilminster were the visitors Saturday for a County League game and after winning on one rink and overall by 54-51 the home side picked up eight of the 12 points available.
