Somerset County League

Middlezoy Rovers 2, Combe St Nicholas 1

MIDDLEZOY continued their excellent start to the season as they stretched their unbeaten run to four games with a hard-fought home victory win over Combe St Nicholas.

Despite having a goal ruled out for offside and numerous chance to take the lead, Middlezoy found themselves a goal down at the break after being hit on the counter attack by the visitors.

The second half was a similar story, again a goal was ruled out for offside and the woodwork prevented the home side from equalising.

Middlezoy finally got back on level terms in the 69th minute when Steve Hall squared to Craig Wright, who tucked away his fourth goal of the season.

The game was won with seconds left on the clock when Steve Hall rose well to guide his header into the top corner with virtually the last touch of the game.
