GOALS from Anusia Rourke, Vicky Tindall and Amber Moule gave Bridgwater a perfect start to their Premier Division adventure at Stoke Lane last weekend.
It was almost a perfect start for the visitors when Chelsea Pitt went one-on-one with the ’keeper but put her shot wide.
However, Town took the lead in the 20th minute when new striker Anusia Rourke latched onto a through ball by Hannah Brown and lobbed the ball the advancing keeper.
Emily Hale and Chelsea Pitt both missed good chances to increase the lead but Stoke Lane came back and forced Town ‘keeper Fay Edwards to bring off a great save to keep her side ahead.
Just before half-time Town went further ahead when they were awarded a free kick some 30 yards out. Vicky Tindall took the kick and saw it go over the keeper's head straight into the net.
Stoke Lane started the stronger in the second half, and pulled a goal back early on, but centre half Amber Moule restored Bridgwater’s two-goal advantage with a back-post header.
Tonight (August 28) Town Ladies have a home fixture at Fairfax Park against Cleeve West Town Ladies. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
