Somerset Errea County League Division Two West

Middlezoy Rovers 7, Nailsea Town Reserves 0

MIDDLEZOY picked up their first three points of the season following back-to-back defeats with a comprehensive win over previously unbeaten Nailsea.

The scoring was opened on 24 minutes when Steve Hall broke down the left and squeezed a shot past the keeper at the near post.

One minute later the lead was doubled with a fine team goal when Lance Turner squared the ball to Aaron Whaites who made no mistake from the edge of the area.

The third came on 29 minutes, a back post header into the top corner from Carl Tucker, and the home side were four goals to the good when Steve Hall doubled his tally for the afternoon, his shot aided by a big deflection.

The fifth goal came on 41 minutes when Damon Jennings netted his first goal for the club with a crisp finish.

And man of the match Steve Hall completed his hat-trick on the stroke of half-time to make it 6-0 to the Zoy.

The second half was more subdued, mainly due to the blistering heat, but on 72 minutes substitute Craig Wright completed the scoring from close range.

The victory comes on the back of last Tuesday's 3-0 loss at Portishead Town Reserves.

They travel to Cheddar Reserves, who have lost all their games this season, Wednesday night (August 22), before entertaining Congresbury at home on Saturday.
