COMBE St Nicholas will be hoping for more five-star action when they travel to face Weston St Johns Reserves tomorrow in Division Two West of the Errea Somerset County League.

They started off the new season last weekend with a 5-0 success at home over Ashton and Backwell United and they would love to continue that winning form.

It was a dream start for Combe who have been strengthened over the summer with the signing of former Chard Town Reserves player-manager Darren Stewart.

Despite an evenly contested opening period, Combe went into the interval 2-0 up.

Ben Haines floated a cross in from the right which was glanced home by Nathan Finn and shortly afterwards Paul Olawuni slotted home the second.

Combe played up the slope in the second period and made it 3-0 when Matthew Brown converted a penalty after Josh Chadwick had cut in from the left and was felled inside the box.

Olawuni made it 4-0 with his second of the afternoon, while Callum McCattie completed the scoring on his debut for Combe.

Combe now travel to Weston St Johns Reserves tomorrow (Saturday, August 18) looking to build on this impressive result.
