LIAM Phillips will be in action at the London 2012 Olympic Games today (August 8) when the seeding runs of the BMX event start.

The 23-year-old from Burnham has been practicing on the track this week with the seeding runs deciding the lane choice for all the riders.

Liam will take to the track at 3.40pm for the seeding runs from the 6,000-capacity venue in the Olympic Park.

If successful, Phillips' schedule will consist of quarter finals tomorrow at 3pm, semi finals on Friday at 3.08pm and a final at 4.40pm.

Liam's father, Pete Philips, said preparations for this event since his injury back in June at the World Championships could not have gone better and that his son is back to full fitness.

He hinted that Liam is riding faster now than before the injury but said if he gets that bit of luck on the day then he could be in with a chance of bringing a medal back to Somerset.
