GOLF: Konig wins Tiverton Stableford
JUNIOR captain Harry Konig shot a two-under gross 69 in winning the men's July Midweek Stableford at Tiverton on Monday.
Konig birdied the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th to get to four under while 10 straight pars separated bogeys on the 7th and 18th.
The teenager posted 42 points to win Division One by two from Will Wessely.
Youngster Ollie Clarke had scored 45 in Division Two but wasn't eligible for a prize as he hadn't played in at least three qualifying competitions.
David Bending took the plaudits instead with 39, beating Leon Squire on a countback.

Anto Hajduk carded a one-over nett 75 to win the ladies' July Medal.
The 21-handicapper finished one ahead of Anne Franklin in Bronze Division One and overall.
With scoring difficult, Carol Scott won the Silver Division with 78 while Jan Cruse topped Bronze Division Two on 80.

Jim Walton posted 38 Stableford points to secure the Veterans' Cup.

Bill Tobin carded a nett 69 to clinch the veterans' Ambrose Congdon Cup on Tuesday.

The men's Flowers Cup was postponed on Saturday as the course was closed due to heavy rain.
