TORQUAY United FC are holding trials for their development centre programme in Taunton on Thursday, July 12.

The age-groups covered will be school years two, three and four.

In the last two seasons over 50 boys from Torquay’s development centres have signed schoolboy contracts and three have gone on to sign scholarships for the club.

When players are attending development centres they are able to continue to play for their local junior youth football clubs.

In addition, players will be assessed twice a year and will play in a mid-week games programme as well as games in school half terms and holidays.

There are also opportunities to take part in tournaments across the UK and Europe.

The games within the programme will include matches against other professional clubs and also the other Torquay development centres.

Although there are no costs for the trials, if accepted at the centre training fees are necessary to cover the costs involved in running such a centre, which is confirmed once a player is successful.

To register to attend contact Torquay United Elite Development Trials Manager Carla Kennett, either calling 07792- 010011 or emailing carla@elitedc.org.

She will issue a ‘player details form’ and also will be able to answer any questions.
