Gymnasts come away with plethora of medals

GYMNASTS from two schools in the Sedgemoor area have won an array of medals at the South West Schools Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships.

In the girls under 13 pair, Jasmine Bassett and Katie Hoskins claimed gold; this victory has now seen the duo from King Alfreds School qualify for the National Finals, representing the South West region in Stoke-on-Trent on May 12 and 13.

Bassett and Hoskins again found themselves within the medals, claiming silver in the under 13 groups alongside Leonie Warburton, Eloise Baker, Emmy Dymond and Olivia Augar. Bassett completed a hat trick of medals claiming another silver medal in the mixed under 13 pairs with Jacob Baker.

Sean and Connor McKenna also found themselves within the honours, coming third in the boys over 13 pairs, claiming a bronze medal.

Hugh Sexey Middle School's Alice Kelson claimed a bronze medal in the under 13 girls pairs, she also claimed another third place finish in the mixed under 13 pairs with Joseph Blake.
