Bridgwater Jupiter 42, Bridgwater Saturn 34 BOTH teams set out knowing they had something to prove and it was Jupiter who took an early lead, despite cracking defence from Sally Haysham.

Leading 21-16 at half-time, Jupiter worked extremely hard to try to extend their lead with timely interceptions from the defensive duo of Lisa Durant and Hannah Symes, as well as accurate circle feeds from Sammie Woolacott.

In the final period, though, well-timed drives from Sammy Kemmish allowed Saturn to pull back some well deserved goals.

Bridgwater Neptune 43, Paulton 42 NEPTUNE started strongly, capitalising on every centre pass, creating a 12-10 lead. However, changes to the Paulton team saw them gain the lead by half time 24-22.

Neptune rose to the challenge and fantastic tips and interceptions from Sally Haysham ensured Paulton did not pull away.

Emma Reynolds was strong down the court and Neptune ended the third period just two goals down. A thrilling final quarter saw the lead swing both ways, with brilliant circle play and accurate shooting from Sammy Kemmish.

Joint players of the match were Kemmish and Reynolds. Match sponsor: Watermans Garage Bridgwater Mars 21, Bishops 65 MARS started slowly and struggled to settle into the game as Bishops took the lead 13-7.

The second quarter saw Mars continue to fall further behind, despite consistent effort from Elaine Bartlett,whose strong court play earned her player of the match.

Mars’ shooters Kayleigh Haste and Sarah Perry found getting past Bishops’ defence a difficult task as the half time score read 12-30 to Bishops.

Defensive trio Mary King, Katy Chedzey and Morgan Middleton fought hard to intercept balls and block the shooters but Bishops proved too strong.
