TAUNTON Town's prolific striker Aaron Blakemore looks set to miss the visit of Southern League Division One (W) promotion chasers Ashford Town on Saturday.
The free-scoring frontman was taken off with a foot injury in the victory at Bromsgrove Rovers last Saturday (see page 143) and is a major doubt.
That could open the door for Taunton-based Alexis Piper to be given his first start since joining from Ilfracombe Town.
Midfielder Ronnie Mowatt, on target at Bromsgrove, is definitely out with a twisted knee as is centre back Danny Seaborne who also has a knee problem. Utility player Adam Faux was taken ill on Wednesday and will also miss the game.
Goalkeeper Tim Pearse should have recovered from the shoulder injury which ruled him out of last Saturday's game. If not, Exeter City youngster Tom Buckler will deputise again.
Taunton are likely to be without defender Jamie Price who has been playing for Toolstation League champions Bideford. But Taunton manager Gary Domone insists he has not left the club.
