THE two outstanding Somerset FA Sunday Challenge Cup Third Round games involving local teams took place though with Westford and Bathpool both progressing to the Quarter-Finals.

Westford took an early lead through Lee Hellier but where then on the back foot for the remainder of the half as Team Jansen took control.

A goal either side of the break put Team Jansen ahead but this just brought Westford back to life as Rodney Marsh struck twice to send Westford through 3-2, they will play Westfield next.

Bathpool also had a tough encounter against Harvesters, Anthony Birtwhistle put Bathpool ahead but Harvesters levelled before half time.

Bathpool won through thanks to a Gavin Follet wonder strike who scored from 40 yards and earn Bathpool a home game against Witham Friary.

The weather put paid to many of the scheduled Keyline Taunton Sunday League fixtures.

In Division Two, leaders Black Horse threw away a 3-1 lead as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Old Inn.

Black Horse dominated the first-half, but only had a 1-0 half time lead to show for it, while the second-half was a much more even affair but Black Horse seemed to have had it won before Old Inn finished the stronger and pegged them back.

Black Horse scorers were Gary Mckiernan, James Cleal and a beauty from Steve Palmer.

Leaders Top Guns earned a good point at Wyndham Arms in Division Three.

Guns played the game with ten men and missed a penalty in a gritty display, while Wyndham had chances of their own to win the game so the 2-2 was a fair result. Nigel Jeffries and Aaron Adamson scored for Wyndham.

Second-placed Cotford had a good 3-1 win over Pegasus thanks to two goals from Martin Groody and one from Chris Willey.

Flying Fins stay bottom despite beating Somerset Inn 5-3 to gain their first points of the campaign.

Carhampton top Division Four as they maintained their 100 per cent record with a convincing 6-0 away win at Piston Broke.

Ross Cornish hit two with one each for Ryan Howe, Kieran Roberts, Gavin Walsh and Paul Yates.

The Eagle Tavern go second thanks to a 4-2 home win over TY Predators with Mark Haig hitting two and Martin Hawkins and Paul Addicott also on target.
