YEOVIL Town striker Dean Bowditch is hoping to be 100 per cent fit before the Glovers' take on Charlton Athletic at Huish Park this Saturday in the Coca-Cola League One.

Bowditch made a scoring return to the Glovers at the weekend in the 1-0 League One success over Southend United following a three-month injury lay-off.

And although he feels sharp, he knows that he still has a little bit of work to do to become 100 per cent fit.

"Sharpness-wise I've felt good in training and I haven't really lost any of that," he told the BBC.

"When you say match-fitness, it's all down to the adrenalin. The adrenalin is pumping and you seem to get tired quicker.

"The boys that are playing week-in, week-out deal with it, but obviously in that first game out you really want to impress and you find you're breathing heavily after just one minute!

"The only thing that still needs to get better is my shoulder.

"It's good enough to play, and it's fine to play, but it just needs to get that last little bit, and whether that means coming off the bench over the next few games or not, I really don't mind.

"But I've got to get myself 100 per cent fit before I start my next game."
