YEOVIL Town defender Nathan Smith is recovering well after a minor hernia operation.

The Glovers have reported that the 22-year-old left-back missed the first week of pre-season training, but will return to the club next week to begin his rehabilitation.

Manager Terry Skiverton, speaking to the club's official website, said: "We sent Nathan to the same surgeon that dealt with both myself and Nathan Jones.

"He isn't at training this week but I'm confident that he'll be ready for the first league game of the season."
