National League South: Taunton Town 0-0 Hemel Hempstead Town

TAUNTON Town finished their two year run in the National League South with a 0-0 draw against Hemel Hempstead Town.

The match was played in front of a 700 plus crowd at Wordsworth Drive on a sunny Saturday afternoon but the fans weren't given much to talk about in this bore draw.

With relegation having been confirmed for Town two days earlier, the game became a dead rubber and that translated into a tedious 90 minutes on the pitch with the visitors having the best of the few chances that arose.

Keeper Dan Lavercombe made several good saves whilst his opposite number Craig King enjoyed a quiet afternoon.

There was a debut in the National League South for Bridgwater & Taunton College student Wes Jenkins as he was subbed on in the 80th minute.

With Dartford beating Truro City, the Peacocks finished the campaign in 22nd place as they now contemplate life back in the Southern Premier next season.
