A TEAM led by Oake Manor professional Ian Vibert won the prestigious Pro-Am tournament at Bowood Golf and Country Club in Wiltshire.
Playing from the seldom used blue championship tees on a windy day, the long course at Bowood, where the fairways in the summer are defined by knee high rough that does not get cut between spring and autumn, defeated most of a high quality field.
Only five teams returned below par scores with Vibert's team, sponsored by Spackman Associates and comprising Oake members Paul and Alison Spackman and Paddy Maclennan, a player from of Enmore Park, coming in at four under par to scoop the lucrative first prize.
The Somerset raiding party plan to return to Wiltshire to defend their title next year.
