TAUNTON Deane eased their relegation worries further with an eight-wicket win away to basement boys Lansdown in Premier Two on Saturday.
Deane, who were at the foot of the table themselves at the start of July, have not lost since June 14 and are now fourth from bottom.
After being asked to bat by Deane, the hosts reached 41 without loss but, after that, wickets fell with alarming regularity.
Opener Ben Staunton hit an aggressive 30 at the top of the order, while Chris Barker did his best to hold the innings together.
Barker, who went in at four, was eventually eight out for 36 and, with extras (20) the next highest score, Lansdown were all out for 147 with almost four overs of the 50 left. Russell Jones and Jason Squire both bagged three wickets apiece, with South African paceman Grant Thompson and spinner Jack Leach snapping up two each.
Former Somerset player Tom Webley got the Deane reply off to a flying start, despite the cheap dismissals of Sam Shaikh and Dave Reading.
He found an able partner in Phil Lewis and the pair saw the side home with more than half their 50 over left. Webley finished 76 not out and Lewis unbeaten on 56.
Deane travel to face Keynsham this Saturday.
