GERALD Hudd finished in top spot from a full field of players in the May Medal at Pickeridge last Saturday.
He carded a nett 64 and pipped John Rainford on countback. Alistair Johnston's nett 65 earned him third place overall and top spot in Division One.
Results - Division 1: 1 Alistair Johnston 65, 2 Mike Bellamy 65, 3 Jeff Dyke 67, 4 Craig McGown 67, Robert Parker 67. Division 2: 1 Gerald Hudd 64, 2 Rober Wallburton 65, 3 Peter Brierley 66, 4 Jerry Palmer 67, 5 Franck Taubert 69. Division 3: 1 John Rainford 64, 2 Richy Barker 68, 3 Merv Cousins 70, 4 Neil Stafford 70, 5 Andy Berry 72.
Pickeridge seniors played their annual Open last Friday with a full field of 111 players, which included 82 visitors, playing in the stableford competition. It was well organised by Mick Gray and visitors were most complememntary on the condition of the course.
The winner with 38 points was Pickeridge member Peter Comrie which was his second home Open victory.
Results - Division 1 (1-15): K. Swickl Ilfracombe) 37, 2 K. Mackey (Pickeridge) 37, 3 T. Holden (East Devon) 35, C. Meakin (Pickeridge 35), A. Pomeroy (Enmore) 35. Division 2 (16-28): 1 P. Comrie (Pickeridge) 38, K. Kirk (Tiverton) 37, 3 A. Miller (East Devon) 35, 4 R. Johnson (Pickeridge) 35, S. Lewis (Okehampton) 35.
Meanwhile, the Pickeridge seniors team continued their winning ways with a 4-2 home win against Libberton last Thursday.
RICHARD Tutill carded +6 to win the top division in Sunday's Bogey Competition at Taunton Vale. He finished three ahead of second placed Jerry Maxwell, while Philip Howard was third with +2.
The winner in Division Two and overall victor was Jordan Mein with +8, two ahead of Nigel Baker with +6, with Derek Blackmore third with +3.
Lee Ward was the winner in Division Three with +3, with counback needed to separate second-placed Mike Berryman and Tony Staple third after both returned with +2.
Ladies vice-captain Stevie Foster teamed up with last year's club captain Paul Chesney to win the Chairman's Cup mixed open fourball better-ball at Taunton Vale. They scored 41 points while Mr R. and Mrs C. Hird from Long Sutton were second with 40 points, one ahead Mr P. and Mrs V. Watts, also from Long Sutton.
Mr J. and Mrs D. Grant from Weymouth were fourth with 38 points, while Shanni and Neil Whisler from Taunton Vale were fifth with 37 points.
The nearest the pin on the fourth hole was won by Mrs V. Watts from Long Sutton while on the 14th Mrs D. Grant who was the winner.
BOB Stout and Dave Thomas claimed one of the most prestigious trophies competed for by Vivary seniors the Don Burns Salver.
The glorious weather was matched by some excellent scores in the greensome format. The winning duo finished with a net score of 58.6 to finish ahead of the other 18 pairs last Wednesday.
Dave Hinton and Richard Brown were second with 60.2 and third spot was taken by Peter Jeffery and Keith Parker on 60.4 strokes.
An excellent buffet meal followed the prizegiving, to round off a great day.

The Stan Hold Trophy: 1 Jack Law 37pts, 2 John Blissitt 36 (on countback from four others). The May Spring Medal and Eclectic 1: 1 Chris Stone 82-19=63, 2 Brian Davey (same net score), 3 Dave Carter 66, 4 Peter Corrick, 5 Stuart Trott.
VIVARY results - Pro-Am qualifier Stableford (first three qualify), May 3, 4, 5: 1 Jacob Hawkins 46pts, 2 Tim Salter 46, 3 Steve Berry 42. Pot Luck Stableford, May 7: 1 Stuart Milton and Tim Salter 84pts, 2 Bill Cridge and Jacob Hawkins 75.
