BRAGGING rights are at stake on Saturday as Taunton host Taunton Deane in WEPL Premier 2 Bristol/Somerset (12.30pm).

The Deane sit second in the table after losing their grip on top spot courtesy of a first defeat of the season at home to Weston-super-Mare last weekend.

They will look to bounce back against a Taunton side who are third bottom but have shown an upturn in fortunes in the past week.

They looked on course to defeat Ilminster last Saturday before rain intervened four overs short of a result being constituted, then beat the same opponents on Monday night to progress to the Baker Cup final.

Taunton will be without Tom Abell, who played in both matches against Ilminster, due to his Somerset commitments - he will be leading out the County Championship leaders at Essex on Sunday.

There is another derby across town at the Wyvern Club, as Taunton St Andrew’s welcome Bridgwater in Premier 1 (12.30pm).

The Saints are hovering just above the bottom two having won just twice in their opening seven matches, while Bridgwater are third after four wins so far.

St Andrew's came through their Baker Cup semi-final against North Petherton in midweek with Tom Banton firing a rapid century but, like Taunton's Abell, he will be unavailable on Saturday due to county commitments.

Bridgwater, who defeated reigning champions Clevedon last weekend, could have a Somerset presence in their side in the form of Max Waller, who has been a regular this season.

In the Somerset Division, in-form Wellington travel to Wembdon while Taunton Deane 2nds host Chard.
