ILMINSTER 2nd XI opened their Division 2 account with a seven-wicket win against Frome 2nds on Saturday.

Josh House was the pick of the bowlers after Frome had been put in to bat.

He took 4-18 off 8.4 overs as Frome were bowled out for 105.

Adam Cox and Dan Vining added two wickets apiece.

Ilminster's reply was led by T. Towill (21) and Adam Cox (25) and Vining (36no) and Josh House (15no) finished the job in the 28th over.

In Division 3, Chard 2nds played Broadway & Horton and won by five wickets.

Put in to bat, Broadway's Spencer Larkman led the innings with 43 but wickets fell regularly before and unbeaten stand of 90 from Charlie Norman (55no) and Jon Pike (31no) led them to 206-8.

There were three wickets apiece for Paul Grinter and Liam Cleal.

Chard's reply featured 95 from opener Paul Rideout before Liam Cleal's unbeaten 60 ensured the victory.

Andrew Robinson's 103 and half-centuries from Nick Taylor and James Salaman saw North Perrott to 277-5 and a winning total at home to Wembdon 2nds.

The visitors were never up with the pace as Tommy Stewart took 5-9 off 6 to skittles them out for just 86.

Crewkerne fell nine runs short of victory after asking Kilmington to bat first in Division 4.

Cameron Heard's 99 and Ant Williams' 56 saw Kilmington to 211-4 at the close.

Crewkerne's reply saw six batsmen get in but none made a match-winning innings with Robert Keylock (46) being top scorer and they fell short of runs.

South Petherton's bowlers took a pasting as Sam Lillycrop hit 122 and Jake Randall 85 led Huntspill & District to an imposing total of 285-4.

Petherton lost both openers early on and despite a half-century from Harry Read, they never recovered, closing on 165-7.

In Division 7S, Broadway 2nds beat Wellington 3rds by 75 runs after Andy Knight and Davee Tucker ended unbeaten on 51 out of a total of 177-5.

When Wellington replied, Andy Knight (4-17 off 8) and Steve Driskel (3-6 off 8) dismissed them for 102.

Crewkerne 2nds entertained Yeovil 3rds and won by 25.

Runs were hard to come by but Crewkerne posted 170-5 with Conor Callow (39) and Richard Keylock (33no) being top scorers.

In reply, Yeovil were held to 145-9 with Oliver Gould (3-17 off 8) being the pick of the bowlers.

Craig Rice took 4-6 off 5 as Ilminster 3rds beat Long Sutton by four wickets.

Sutton were bowled out for 115 with L. Dopson also claiming 3-17 off 8.

Ilminster's reply faltered early on but Rice (21) and Dopson (42) helped see them home.

Joel Harris (3-29), Ian Lukins (4-9) and James Edmunds (3-1) skittled out Castle Cary for 45 as they chased South Petherton's 120-7.

Ilminster 4ths faced Kilmington and lost by 50 runs.

Kilmington posted 218-6 as Nick Ward hit 74 but after Paul Sainsbury (49) and Steve Curtis (37) flourished early in Ilminster's reply, the innings collapsed to 168-8.

North Perrott 3rds beat Ilton 2nds by 71 after they posted 193, Alex Payne top scoring with 44.

Ilton fell foul of Alistair Hayton's 3-36 late on, despite Andy Haste's 42.

Chard 3rds beat Taunton Deane 5ths by 72 after an unbeaten ton from Phil Tolley (119) led them to 204-1.

David Crew (4-9 off 8) and Lewis Griffiths (3-34 off 8) scuppered the Deane's reply.
