BURNHAM-ON-SEA CC begin their Monmouth Scientific Somerset League campaign this weekend, looking to bounce back after a poor season for both senior men’s teams in 2018.

The 1st XI line up in Division 2 having been relegated from the Premier Division last season, and they kick off at Cheddar on Saturday.

New signings Conor Lefrere and Nathan Giblett will play key roles with the ball, and both are to make their 1st XI debuts this weekend.

Top order batsmen Pete Harris and Dave Worthington will be looking to bounce back after a quiet season by their standards last time around.

The bulk of the runs last year came from Rob Driver and Brad House, who has just come back from a stint in Australia playing for Tocumwal CC.

The 2nd XI, relegated from Division 6 last season, begin their Division 7N at home to Purnells on Bank Holiday Monday (May 6).

A strong side, captained by Tom McCollum and featuring the likes of Craig Scriven, Phil White and Andy Ashfold, will hope to kick-off their season with a win.

Lympsham & Belvedere begin their Division 3 season at home to Weston-super-Mare 2nds, while Huntspill & District host South Petherton in Division 4.
