Gardner Cup final

Tiger Old Boys 6, Hamilton Reserves 1

TIGER Old Boys finished their season with a trophy, as Ian Bellinger scored four times in their Gardner Cup final triumph over Hamilton Reserves on Sunday evening.

Having beaten Hamilton's first team in the semi-final, Tigers made a slow start against their Reserves at Bishops Lydeard, but then started to move the ball about and create chances.

Bridgwater Town player Bellinger was the headline act, with four goals, and his Robins team-mate Carl Jones added another two as their side eased to a 6-1 win.

Goalkeeper Will Pope made a couple of good saves, while Cory McKay pulled the strings in midfield and Matt Eckley gave a quietly effective performance.

It means that Tigers have rounded off a decent season, which has seen them retain their Division 1 status for another season, with a fourth trophy in two years since joining the Taunton Sunday League.
