ENMORE Park golfer Alex Kippen finished fifth in the under-21s section in the grand final of the Faldo Series at the Celtic Manor Resort, South Wales.
The 19-year-old fired gross rounds of 74, 71 and 72 around the Roman Roads course at Newport to be seven over par for the tournament.
"He was reasonably happy," said Alex's father, Bob. "It was a good standard."
Nick Faldo was at the after-match dinner along with England star Nick Dougherty and the Ryder Cup.
Faldo said: "It's been a great event, with competitors from Faldo Series tournaments in the UK, Europe and also from the Faldo Series Asia, all of whom have produced some fine golf."
Alex, who is studying accountancy at Bridgwater College, won the Faldo Series regional qualifying at Celtic Manor at the end of August thanks to rounds of 71 and 72.
The one-handicapper is now preparing to represent Somerset in their final match of the season against Cornwall.
But does he harbour thoughts of turning professional in the future?
Bob said: "It's a very good standard. Alex is keen to improve but he's realistic."
