Deiniol Graham gave United an early lead but some super saves by Taunton goalkeeper Paul Edwards kept the deficit to one.
Ellis Laight and Andy Perrett put Town 2-1 up at half-time only for Danny Webber to equalise.
A 25-yard screamer from Lee Groves re-established Taunton’s lead but Ben Thornley levelled it up with the final kick of the game.
The home supporters were delighted to see some of their old favourites back in Taunton colours, with Ellis Laight and Antony Lynch linking up once more and perhaps the biggest cheer of the day reserved for Russell Musker's late appearance off the bench.
Players from both sides then posed for selfies and signed autographs to make the day a memorable one for those in attendance.
