Plymouth Parkway 1, Bridgwater Town 1

BRIDGWATER Town stretched their unbeaten run to 14 matches with an impressive point at new league leaders Plymouth Parkway on Saturday.

The game started at a quick pace and saw both sides pick up yellow cards while there were few chances created.

The deadlock was then broken on 33 minutes by the visitors, as Jake Brown latched on to Jack Taylor's flick-on and finished past the goalkeeper at the second attempt.

Just as it looked as though Town would hold their lead until the break, they were caught out by a long ball in first half stoppage time and Adam Carter headed over goalkeeper James Annison and into the net.

Brown came close to adding his second on 51 minutes but saw his effort blocked after he had rounded the goalkeeper.

Both sides then struck the woodwork, Tom Ellis heading against the post for Bridgwater before Parkway's striker crashed an effort against the bar.

Parkway struck the frame of the goal again late on but Town dug in to secure a point which keeps them fourth in the table.

Next up for the Robins is a Les Phillips Cup semi-final on Wednesday night against Willand Rovers, who were knocked off top spot in the league after a 2-0 defeat at Cribbs on Saturday.
