CHARD Road Runners were out in good numbers in the cooler Sunday outing to Yeovil.

This road race, taking in the town centre and heading out to run through the grounds of Montacute House, is very well supported, with a flatish route all hopes are for a Half Marathon Personal Best.

Running for CRRs were Liam Whyte, James Musselwhite, Claire Gibbs, Marie Culverwell, Jacqui Allen, Lizzie Smith and Nicky Smith.

With the race heading off from the town centre, the crowds were out in force to spur the runners on.

Whyte was the first to show for CRRs with a goal of a sub-1hr 30m half.

Musselwhite got into his stride, relaxing into the run as another PB contender.

Culverwell and Allen were both pushing Musselwhite on with their brilliant pacing as they were constantly changing places.

Entering the grounds of Montacute House, Smith – who is moving from strength to strength in 2019 with a string of PBs – was keeping her head down.

Heading back into Yeovil with Gibbs and Smith giving their all, with the finish line in the centre of the main shopping precinct, it was Whyte who crossed the line in 1h 29m 33s a PB.

Next hitting his PB was Musselwhite in a time of 1h 54m 30s, Marie Culverwell crossed in 2h 04m 20s and Allen 2h 04m 20s.

Keeping her record of PBs going, Smith crossed in 2h 12m 11s, followed by Gibbs in 2h 31m 45s and Smith in a PB of 2h 43m 15s.
