YEOVIL Town Ladies could switch back to part-time status at the end of the current Women's Super League season, amid concerns over their finances.

The Somerset club, who play their home matches at Dorchester Town FC, are reported to be making all full-time off-field staff redundant, including their general manager and communications manager.

Yeovil are currently five points adrift at the bottom of the WSL standings, and due to financial issues they could go down to the second tier even if they were to claw themselves out of the dropzone.

The Glovers moved to full-time, professional status last summer, as this was a requirement to compete in the top flight of English women's football.

The club put together a community-focused application, featuring Bridgwater & Taunton College as education partner and training venue.

But despite solid match attendances, BBC Sport has reported that this season's turnover has not been as high as hoped.

Yeovil released the following statement: "The FA have been extremely supportive and we are working closely with them to bring about a positive resolution to these issues.

"We remain committed to delivering girls and women's football for the community in the south west."

"The club will not be making any further comment at this time.

"Thank you for your support."
