Ilminster Town 2, Marine Academy Plymouth 4

ILMINSTER Town Ladies were undone at home by Marine Academy Plymouth - and hat-trick hero Anthea Kaptein - on Sunday.

The Blues began well, using the wind to their advantage, but fell behind in the fifth minute when Samantha Drewery picked up a loose ball and powered it home.

Yet Ilminster were level in the seventh minute, as Georgia Coward whipped in a delightful cross which Maisie Parker turned goalwards, and when the keeper parried Colette Martin was there to finish.

The hosts fell behind again on 35 minutes, as Kaptein finished off a fine passing move.

It was 3-1 to the visitors 15 minutes into the second half, as MAP got in behind the home defence and Kaptein's effort found the net.

And the contest was over in the 66th minute, Kaptein beating a couple of defenders and firing in to complete her hat-trick.

The Blues kept plugging away, and got one back on 84 minutes, as Parker netted with a venomous 20-yard shot.

Ilminster Town Ladies: Charlotte Johnson, Georgia Coward, Sarah Miller (c), Dana Andrews, Hannah Billing, Charlie Pettinger, Abbie Carslake, Colette Martin, Tia Shoemark, Maisie Parker, Graziely Esperanca. Substitute: Amy Goss.

This coming Sunday sees eighth-placed Ilminster host Middlezoy Rovers, who are sixth, at the Archie Gooch Pavilion (ko 2pm), with the Blues eager to avenge their 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture on February 24.
