Burnham United 3, Winscombe 2

BURNHAM United fought back from 2-1 down with 10 men to claim a priceless win over Winscombe on Saturday.

Curtis Bradshaw scored twice for the hosts and Edward Lamb bagged the other as United, who lost Jamie Merrick to two yellow cards in the first half, won for the first time since January 5.

They are now four points clear of the bottom two and travel to mid-table Nailsea & Tickenham Reserves on Saturday.

Burnham United Reserves lost 3-1 at their Cheddar counterparts in Division 3.

Elliot Keen scored Burnham’s goal.

Results elsewhere saw United drop to 11th - they host Yatton & Cleeve United Reserves on Saturday.

United’s A team were in sparkling form in Division 1 of the Weston & District League, putting six past West Wick.

Joseph Wall’s brace led the way, with James Chinnock, Declan Christie, Loui Jones and Dax Vincent also finding the net.

United will be looking to take that goalscoring form into their Bob Keyes Cup semi-final against Hutton Reserves on Saturday.

In Division 4, goals from Rhys Ford, David Owen and Christopher Savill were not enough to stop United B from slipping to a 5-3 defeat at Worle Rangers Reserves.

Andrew Mockridge’s goal saw Huntspill Crowns beat Clevedon United A to move level on points with Weston Town at the top, but Crowns have played two more matches.
