BISHOPS Lydeard Reserves are three points clear at the top of Division 1 in the Invest SouthWest Taunton Saturday League, after an outstanding 6-2 win over Wembdon at the weekend.
Both sides were not only locked on points before the tie, but they were also both unbeaten.
It was Lydeard who upheld that record, as they were far too strong for their opposition on the day.
A masterclass from Jake Quick, who hit four goals, and strikes from Pat Sherwood and Rhys Ford saw off Wembdon, for whom Ed Habberfield and Andrew Skidmore netted consolation goals.
Bridgwater Sports close to within three points of Wembdon, after a 2-1 victory against Redgate.
Jamie Evans and Olly Down converted for Sports, who are six points behind the leaders with two games in hand.
