THE gulf between top and bottom in the Premier Division was exposed this week as top sides Winsham Utd and South Petherton hit 12 apiece against lowly Pymore and Shepton Beauchamp, respectively.

Dan Norman hit four, Joshua Manley a hat-trick and Aaron Crabb two for Winsham, while Scott Davis, Jay Stewart and Dan Rodber finished the scoring as Pymore failed to reply.

Shepton could do nothing to stop Pethy’s five-goal Mike Rousell, Charlie Berrington (3), Karl Davis, Danny Rendell, Jack White and an own goal.

Two goals from Adam Dawe and one apiece from Jamie Laver, Brad Powers and an OG saw Merriott Rovers to a 5-2 win at home to Chard Utd.

Jamie Brown and Dan Potter replied for the visitors.

In Division 1, third-placed Hawkchurch were given a tough time at home to lowly Forton Rangers before winning by the odd goal in seven.

Perry Street kept in the promotion chase with an 11-0 win at home to Combe St Nicholas as Steve Every and Kevin Rowson hit hat-tricks, Billy Sheahan two, and Chris Fry, Max Patch and Owen Richardson one.

Runaway Division 2 leaders South Petherton Res eventually saw off bottom club Kingsbury Episcopi 4-1 as Troy Purchase hit a double and Joshua Drummond and Jamie Evans made sure of the points.

Second-placed Charmouth travelled to Shepton Beauchamp Res and came away with a 2-0 victory.

Chard Rangers had Kevin Bird, Luke Chubb and Josh Rolfe on target as they beat visitors Dowlish & Donyatt 3-1.

Adam Payne was on target for Dowlish.

Forton Rangers Res enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Chard Utd Res, while mid-table Donyatt Utd had a surprisingly easy 5-0 win at home to Ilminster Town A.

In Division 3, Combe St Nicholas A registered their first win of the season, a 3-1 victory over fellow strugglers Netherbury Res.

Crewkerne Rangers A are still looking for theirs, after they travelled to Merriott Wildcats and were beaten 7-3.

Alfie Bargery, Ross Jewell, Callum Nerwton, Tyler Perrett, Daley Sanson, Oliver Wheatley and an OG made up the Wildcats’ tally.

Over at Lyme Regis, the Rovers battled out a 2-2 draw with Ilminster Town B.

Robert Larcombe scored twice for Rovers while Town replied through Steve Park and an OG.

In the Division 1 Cup, there was a surprise for division leaders Thorncombe, who travelled to Ilminster Town Res and were beaten 2-1.

Match of the day in Division 1 on Saturday will be leaders Thorncombe’s visit to third-placed Hawkchurch (ko 2pm).
